Due to the site’s topography, most alignments are associated with the setting sun over Eyam Moor, visible to the west. Barnatt suggests that during the Winter Solstice, the sun would have set along the right-hand edge of the tallest stone, Stone 3. Similarly, the alignments for February, November, and the Equinox sunsets correspond with specific stones within the circle. Notably, the Midsummer moon aligns with the southern entrance, leading directly toward the distant Arbor Low henge and circle, suggesting a deliberate connection between the two sites.
