THE STORY

Some people go to the countryside to relax.

I go to find something worth filming.

That might be a prehistoric stone circle wrapped in morning mist, a cave that hasn’t been on any map I’ve seen, or the exact moment golden light breaks over a moorland horizon and the whole world holds its breath for three seconds.

That’s the moment I live for. And that’s what Papa Bear Adventures is built around.

HOW IT STARTED

I Didn’t Set Out to Build a Brand.

I set out to go for a walk.

The Peak District was my backyard — technically. But for a long time I drove past it, through it, around it. Like most people, I was moving too fast to actually see it.

Then one evening I took a drone out to Stanton Moor, mostly just to see what it looked like from above. The footage that came back stopped me completely. Ancient stone circles. Purple heather stretching to the edge of the world. Light that filmmakers spend entire careers trying to recreate artificially — just sitting there, free, waiting to be found.

Something shifted. I started going back. Weekends, early mornings, golden hours. I started bringing better cameras. I started telling people what I was finding.

Papa Bear Adventures grew out of that simple compulsion: go somewhere wild, bring the right gear, and come back with something worth sharing.
